Signatures of Elizabeth Oakes Smith and Geraldine Oaksmith

The signature of Elizabeth Oakes Smith appears here in what was her personal copy of a Gift Book she edited during the 1840s. At her death, much of her library and many of her papers became the property of Geraldine Oaksmith, Appleton's youngest child, who died on Long Island in the 1960s.
